In 1988, Rita released her second album, "Yemei Ha'Tom" (Days of Innocence), which was produced by her husband Rami Kleinstein. The album included a song Hanoch Levin, one of the more acclaimed playwrights of Israel. In 1990, Rita finally got her chance to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Shara Barkhovot" (Singing in the Streets). After a brief hiatus, Rita returned in 1994 with her third album, "Ahava Gedola" (Big Love), which gained much success. Followin the album she toured Israel for three years. "Tahanot Bazman" (Stations in Time), a compilation of rarities and b-sides was released in 1996. 

In 1998, Rita was invited to sing the Israeli national Anthem "Hatikvah" (The Hope) as part of Israel's jubilee celebration "Paamonei Ha'Yovel" (The Jubilee Bells). Atlhough some have crticized the extravaganess of the event, following a call from the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she performed. Rita reported to donate her fee for the event to charity. 

In 1999, Rita released "Tiftah Halon" (Open a Window) which was very successful. Four years later she released "Hamtzam" (oxygen). In 2004, Rita played the role of Roxie Hart in an adaptation of the musical "Chicago" for the Beit Leisin Theater. 

In 2006, Rita put on a new show called "One", which ran for a month at the Israeli Trade Fairs & Convention Center in Tel Aviv. The show, Directed by Hanoch Rozen, was a lavish affair including lasers, flamethrowers, 3-D images, smoke machines and forty dancers, acrobats, and actors. Over 100,000 tickets were sold. 

At the beginning of 2007, Rita commenced working on her 7th studio album, “Remazim” (“Cluses”). The singer and creator Ivri Lider was in charge of the musical production. A large part of the work was done at Ivri’s private studio. It is an acoustical album of a personal and intimate nature. Rita herself wrote some of the texts. Others were written by Ivri Lider, Idan Reichel and others. Rami Kleinstein composed most of the songs. 

On January 2008 Rita released, "Remazim". The album, with its unique sound and atmosphere, quickly grabbed the audience's attention. Music critics marked this album as a milestone in Rita's career. Within two months, the album has sold 40,000 copies. Therefore, a new tour has been launched and tickets became a rare commodity. 

Reviews acknowledge this tour to be one of the most impressive and intimate performances seen in years, relating to the breathtaking lighting, unique stage design and original presentation. Not without good reason, she is considered by many as the singer of the State of Israel. 

On May 2008, Rita was acknowledged as “Israel’s 60 anniversary female singer”.
